I agree.... that was just like a UFC show. Sold out and a really nice card for free viewing. Actually enjoyed it better than some recent Fight Nights and free UFC PPVs (from like Ireland, etc)
My thoughts on everything...
-Miller won the fight. I wasnt scoring round by round, and probably should go back and do that before I say he won, but he definately won rounds 1 & 3. Shields scored a bunch of takedows, then proceeded to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, and never came close to finsihing. Miller had two slams in Round 1, nearly finished Shields in Round 3 with the rear naked choke, and repeatedly reversed and stood up following the takedowns. If takedows score, then reversals and stand ups should score as well, especially when the fighter executing the takedows does NOTHING in terms of strikes or meaningful sub attempts. The brief standups were in Miller's favor. He was never in serious danger the entire fight.
-All four losers impressed me. Soko looked really good vs. one of the best on the planet. I was a matter of time before Mousasi wore him down, but Soko hung in and looked much improved on the ground. Silva looked crisp and sharp, and was simply bested by the better ground fighter. I already talked about Miller. Which brings me to...
-Rogers shocked the hell out of me, but then again, how many times have we seen Fedor seemingly "in trouble", yet manages to still make it look easy? He's impossible to finish. The only way you are beating that guy is if you can cut him...his biggest weakness, is he's an easy bleeder. Fedor has the quickest hands ive ever seen, and age has not slowed that one bit. It was a great fight, and I wouldnt mind a rematch one bit if Overeem is still busy with his psuedo bodybuilding career and enlarging his heart. Strip his anabolic ass already.
Overall, this was a great show, even with Jake Sheilds playing wet blanket for 5 rounds, because Miller makes anything entertaining. And for those complaining, they did the right thing showing the Miller ring walk, because you need to create stars, and Miller is the most charasmatic man on the Strikeforce roster. This is an entertainment business first, sport second. Hard to swallow fro some, but true. Plus, it's something different than UFC does, you need to differentiate yourselves.
All my lines run together even if I put spaces in betewwn them for some reason. LOL at Rogers acting like Fedor was calling him out for a rematch. They asked fedor if he would give him a rematch. I think he said ok or something. Then rogers gets on and is like "if he wants a rematch". I dont know if they had to bleep out half of what rogers was saying or if they were having sound problems because a few times in the fight it went mute while I was watching it. Rogers could have showed a little more class in defeat.

The M1834 rtg was #1 in the tp for all four half hours. At 9pm, the M1849 was a tenth behind ABC, but led the tp for the remaining half hours.
for the lack of advertising they put into it, no footage for fedor, cant speak english and a guy like rogers in the main event, up against College football, etc...these are very good IMO
winning the 18-34 was the goal and its something to build from
overall it is a success
